The tendency of producers is usually the creation of “rough” wines that follow trends, established models, uniforming the organoleptic characteristics, for the sole purpose of pursuing economic interests that often collide with the respect for nature and the peculiarities of the lands and of the vineyards themselves.
We don’t wish to invent anything new, we just want to preserve what the earth offers us and lets us discover as much as possible, through our wines, authentic tastes and emotions.
We therefore make wine without being affected by trends, perhaps for many people we are doing wrong, but we are certain of one thing: we are proud of our products because they reflect our beliefts.
In our Farm we follow the biodynamic philosophy and cultivation method. This method emphasises that Nature is at the centre of all work and man is the respectful observer and carer of the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
We are inspired by the principles suggested by Rudolf Steiner in the early 1900s to restore vigor to the lands that were already impoverished and exploited at that time. We apply the biodynamic techniques that have been perfected throughout the years, without ever being distorted or deprived of their essence. Without inventing anything new, but with lots of “Love” and “Respect” towards nature, we apply these principles and techniques and try to give “vitality” and “vigour” back to our lands. The lands we cultivate have been denied this vigour due to the constant use of synthetic products that have proved to be damaging both to the environment and to human health.
We have substituted fungicide treatments for natural products, herbal teas and biodynamic preparations (500, 501 and others), limiting the use of copper and sulphur too.
To embrace the biodynamic method means to accept a substantial reduction in productivity, especially to begin with as the balance between terrain and plant has not yet been restored. The choice of adopting the biodynamic principles in this initial phase of “unbalance” is a risky one, especially in an area such as Valtellina which is also conditioned by the asperity of the land. We can however overcome all obstacles by remaining strong in our fundamental ideals and being animated by passion, belief and motivation.

The purpose that animates our Farm is that of expressing the vitality and authentic flavours of our land through our wines.
The goal of our Farm is to reach a closed cycle production within a few years. We aim to become a self-sufficient and independent farming company especially in the making of biodynamic preparations and heaps for fertilisation and revitalisation of the land.
We intend to abandon the method of monoculture and introduce different plant species that are synergic, so that we can create a land that is rich in organic material and finished products with higher vitality and organoleptic quality.
In our small way we wish to move more towards that individual “agricultural organism” that guarantees healthy products obtained through a lasting balance between the land, agriculture and man.
We strongly believe that this respectful way of working with nature represents the future path that can guarantee the safeguard of the environment, of the planet and of the human species.
For us obtaining qualifications is not of primary importance; we do however believe that qualifications carry a meaningful message when it comes to product quality.
Our Farm has obtained the following certifications: Bio CE, Bio Suisse and, since 2015, Demeter for biodynamic wines.
We are the first Italian wine-growing company to certify as a B Corporation: a company that voluntarily respects the highest standards of purpose, responsibility and transparency towards workers, the environment and the communities in which it operates. A B Corp is different from a traditional company in that it exceeds the objective of profit and becomes a driver for society and for safeguarding nature.
B Corporations are a new type of company that not only consider profit, but also the positive impact they create towards their workers, the communities in which they operate and the environment. In this way business can be a positive force that creates a lasting and shared prosperity for society.
In order to be “of quality” our product must first of all be “Alive” and maintain its vitality and uniqueness in the bottle too; we are profoundly convinced of this.
For us the “beauty” of a product is not purely and limitedly an esthetic factor, but has an intrinsic characteristic: “the beauty of the soul”.
